When we cut the logs and they go down the green chain we can see what makes grade and what doesn’t. We sort those two items and then we sort for any SAP in the board. If we find SAP we pull that to the side, when we accumulate enough volume we make a Treatment Charge of the MCA which only can be absorbed by the SAP wood, the heartwood cannot accept the chemicals.

Now because we cut the Mahogany thicker than the final sizing sometimes the SAP on the board actually gets removed when the blank turns into a decking board via the molder. After running thru the molder we then re-introduce the treated SAP Decking boards back into the grading process so they can be evenly mixed in the units.
